So, I finally made my own blog. Why did I wait so long to do it? I don’t know, it’s just typical for me! If my friend Cihan wasn’t here to push me in the right direction, I probably wouldn’t make this blog. Thanks Cihan, you saved my life!
On to the subject then. Social media. Hmmm, do I use social media? Uhh I don’t know, do I? Oh wait I got a Hyves-account! That’s social media, right? Is it? Yeah it is, pfieuww so yeah I use social media. Nowadays, you see millions of people who use social media like Hyves, Twitter and Facebook. I only use hyves, but I don’t know why I am using it. I guess it all started in 2005, when I made my Hyves account. I really don’t know why I did it, probably because I received lots of e-mails which said: You can run, but you can’t hyve! Huh, what? So I looked on the website of Hyves, and I saw all these people I know, who had a hyves-account. Suddenly, from the deepest area of my memories, I received a flashback. Cu2! That was it, that was my first social media which I actually used! Oh boy that was a good time. So without any doubts, I made my own account, and added all my friends of my messenger-list. I made my account, but I wasn’t updating it. I just take a look now and then, see if I received any messages, en then I returned to the websites of online games.
Some time passed by, en it was my birthday. I turned 17 I think, or 18 I don’t remember, but that day I visited my hyves-account again. Suddenly, I saw many messages from people I know, who wanted to congratulate me! They all knew it was my birthday. A really emotional day for me, because sometimes my own father doesn’t know when it’s my birthday. I replied every one who sent me a message. This was the first time I really felt like a social media user, because I felt the connection with my online buddies!
Since that time, I am now and then checking my account, sending people messages, receiving messages, looking at my friends pictures, and hooking up with people who I haven’t spoken in a while. Hakan is a real social media user now! Maybe I am not the most up to date social media user ever, but I do use it. Hyves, connecting people!
